In this exhibition, six artists, who have created work that makes us aware of the connection and relation between their work of art and its surrounding world, do research on Wakaba-cho, the district where the venue is located, and have dialogues with the audience in their own way. We hope this exhibition will come close to Wakaba-cho’s community and build a sense of connection and affinity with each other, just as a string of drops trickles to slowly penetrate into the depth of things. This is why we titled this exhibition DROP ME !. Wakaba-cho, there district where Nitehi Works, the venue of this exhibition stands, is a neighborhood where day laborers once gathered and now has a remarkably multi-ethnic atmosphere with many restaurants and bars of Korean, Chinese, Thai and other Asian food. Nitehi Works is an alternative space created in the forty-five-year-old renovated bank building, and the atrium and safes preserved in the interior have been inspiring new possibilities of curation.. “How will art transform itself through communicating with a peculiar place?” This question evokes more unique and diverse communications between you and others. DROP ME ! will give Wakaba-cho a new face.
