"Chiyoda Art Festival 2011" aims to offer a wide range of people from all walks of life the opportunity to present their creativity. This festival was firstly realized in 2010 as the "3331 Independents" exhibition, held in 3331's main gallery, and this year will include in addition to this exhibition both "stage" and "market" events, further extending the range of artistic expression brought together in this festival and making use of the various unique spaces of this art centre. Due to the events of 3.11 the "Chiyoda Art Festival" scheduled for May was postponed but 3331 is glad to announce its rescheduled opening in September 2011.

In its first year "3331 Independents" brought together over 350 works submitted by artists from all over Japan, as well as international participants and while promoting the opportunity for anyone to exhibit their creative work, 3331 also initiated a scholarship program for artists selected by visitors and jury panel. Winners of this year's program will have the opportunity to present their work again in a special exhibition to be held from April 2012.

This year also includes the "stage" program in which all forms of performing arts from dance to physical performance to music will be presented along with a special "market" program to be held on 3331's rooftop with creative stalls filled with books, art products, fashion etc. spread across this open space.
