Hirotoshi Iwasaki draws original pictures with charcoal or pencils, and creates film works. There are the film works created from several original pictures and the film works created by erasing and adding lines on one original picture. These expand another poetic world within a black and white world, and it gives us the impression of another time and space.

“This artwork was expanded from the scenery of white smoke rising from many beds which appeared in my dream. I was influenced by “Dream of Butterfly” by Chuang-tzu during my work creation, and filmed the conflict between dreams and reality. Although I was not thinking who the sleeping man in the film was, he mysteriously had much resemblance to my grandfather in the end.”
