Ishikawa Misaki Exhibition “ Playing with Water ”

Published: November 25 2019

From exhibition works " The person who appeared in water " Acrylic on paper, 2019

Misaki Ishikawa is an artist who has been making things and matters-which she gained from her daily work and life and also from travelling-into abstract paintings and installations. Her work is influenced by her experiences of working with the earth through agriculture, and also by the meaning of soil and fire experienced by watching the death of people close to her.
This year by the threatening damage by more and more severe floods across the country, she started to think over the climate change and how in the ancient times the places for people to live were actually made by flooded rivers. In this solo exhibition choosing ‘water’ as her theme, she works with the painting expression which questions the relationships between water and human beings.
exhibition throws us a question about our own ‘death’.
