Exhibition work.

Taki Kiyoko has become 60 years old last year and decided to have a solo exhibition as the “ preparation for death ” and express all of her thoughts and will so that she would leave nothing to regret at the end of her life.

She thinks she must be thankful that she has been able to live without serious pains for now. But looking around the world, she finds that so many people who suffer from wars, racism, sexual discrimination or being refugee, and some of them lose their lives. Turning her eyes to Japan, she sees many Japanese people being victims of horrible disaster such as “3.11” - east Japan earthquake and tsunami in 2011 - or Kumamoto earthquake in 2016. The radiation hazard by the nuclear plant accident still gives pains and fear in many people. And what is especially hurting her mind is the problem of bases in Okinawa. She can’t help feeling anger for the enforcement of new base construction in defiance of objection by many Okinawa people.

In this exhibition, she shows the paintings which express her will to fight against irrationality in the world with no hesitation, and makes continuous installation with audience to express solidarity with Okinawa people who are now resisting against cruel execution of power.
