《Bartok's Room》1970, Aquatint

FUTAMI Shoichi (b.1932) is a copperplate print artist who is active not only in Japan but also in Germany and other parts of northern Europe. This exhibition surveys approximately 100 prints from the museum collection dating from his early years to recent works. Making free use of aquatint, Futami’s copperplate prints construct a blue-based romantic world which invites the viewer to a world of fantasy.
