Opened in February 2010 in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, this gallery mainly deals in photographic works. The gallery aims at being a place where ‘hot energy’ is generated and creates intersections among people through the means of their photographic exhibitions. The gallery has two spaces each on its second and third floors. On the third floor, artists who push the existing limits of photography are exhibited. On the second floor, various art events including live concerts, parties, talk shows, slide shows, workshops, and darkrooms are held along with exhibitions. There is also a museum shop. The gallery regularly holds unique special exhibitions as well, such as a postcard exhibition by photo contest. This is one of the few galleries in Kyoto specializing in photography. However, it also exhibits painting, craft works, installations, etc. Artists exhibited here in the past have included Yuki Nakazawa, Akira Mitamura, Jun Nishimura, Yoshiaki Suito, Masahiro Nabeta., Takaaki Oe, Yuko Tada, and others. Address: 2F&3F Kobayashi-bldg., 731-1 Uematsu-cho, Matsubara-sagaru, Teramachi-dori, Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto |
