What are our “likes and dislikes”? Likes and dislikes on our dining table or subject I like and subject I hate. You got a friend in love? Or a friend you don’t like. What to wear today? Love cats? I love dogs. We have favorites even amongst seasons, smell, colors and numbers.
Grownups like parents and teachers all tell us not to be so picky, but we are all living daily lives on like-and-dislike basis. Then what is the root of our likes and dislikes?
We can press buttons of TV channels we like. We can click only we get interested on the Internet. Now is the time, they say, we can choose anything we like. But then, if we don’t choose some, cannot we have any chance to know about it? If my “like” is someone’s “dislike,” can’t I share this happy feeling of mine with him?
This exhibition consists of works in some chapters, which help viewers to think about their likes and dislikes. Like-and-dislike attitude that we adults usually say “No” is essential in the field of art. To have opinions and to share the feelings lead us to know about ideas of others. Such communication may let us notice new pleasure that we never could reach alone.
MOMAW Summer Museum Project counts the seventh this year. This serial exhibition aim school children to visit Museum during summer vacation, and hope them enjoy various art works together with adults. Please enjoy facing your likes and dislikes at MOMAW this summer.
