MEGUMI OGITA GALLERY was opened in Tokyo, Ginza 5-chome in 2007 and relocated to 2-chome in January of 2010 besides using the former space for emerging artists. The gallery has the aim of handling artists who seek for a new expression while valuing traditional techniques and materials and high-quality finish. The small display space, which is a room of about four and half-mat size, is well known. It creates an intimate relation between the work exhibited and the spectator by making them face each other. The range of genres handled is wide, including paintings, photographs and sculpture, and overseas artists who have not been introduced to Japan are presented along with young domestic artists. Among the represented artists are Tomokazu Hiroe, Karin Kamijo, Kengo Nakamura, Tomotaka Yasui, Yo Masa Jyun, Julie Heffernan, Victoria Gitman and Sherri Hay.
