Galerie Tokyo Humanite is pleased to announce KIMURA Taiyo's first solo exhibition in our gallery showcasing new paintings and sculptures. Strange laughter from a cute stuffed white bear, people packed in milk cartons like crowded trains, or numerous women's eyes in a fashion magazine staring at you-- Kimura uses various media, such as sculpture, installation and video, to create surrealistic works containing black humor. Through his works, our habits or senses acquired unknowingly over the years become aware and unconscious mind is revealed while adverse reactions are provoked. Kimura (b. 1970) started his career as an artist soon after he graduated from Sokei Academy of Fine Art and Design in Tokyo. His recent exhibitions include Cosmic Rhythm Vibrations, 2019, Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University, USA, International Animation Exhibition, 2016, Yinchuan Museum of Contemporary Art, China, and window display Guardian Angel -Taiyo Kimura, 2015, Ginza Maison Hermes, Tokyo.
