The Scandinavian design is generally featured with a simple form, and the bright color. As severe climatic condition demands comfort for the housing and town, and the design that has been created in magnificent nature always attracts people in the world. Particularly a large number of many globally prominent designers are from Denmark. The beautiful design merges into the street and home in the capital of Copenhagen, "Sacred city of the design." Karin Patricia Jensen lives and works in Elsinore which is located 30 km north from Copenhagen. It is also a city well famous by the stage of Shakespeareʼ s tragedy "Hamlet", that has been performed many times in Kronborg castle registered in World Heritage, too. After Karin Patricia Jensen studied the design of pottery and glass at the Denmark design school, she grew seriously involved with artwork when she settled in Elsinore, 1997. Her attitude toward creating ceramics is very relaxing and she is usually inspired from the connections with nature. She wished to make a bowl which would be filled with kind and love when she agreed on the first solo exhibition in Japan. The idea became stronger every day, and the bowls of "Aphrodite" were completed by something other than her idea alone. The work process surprisingly advanced well. It was just ʻListening to my heartʼ while making "Seed" and "The Listener." When the work of Aphrodite was placed at the exact angle of 45 degrees from the sun the shadow of Yin-Yang symbol appeared. It was the moment that she was assured all must had been not coincidence but planned. Only the color which exists in this world can be made. If this is true the gentle colors she created and placed on her works are just like the warmth of Scandinavia and are also co-led by the universe. These colors give somewhat a nostalgic feeling to Japanese we both have a similar environment of surrounded by deep green. * The texty provided by Gallery Strenger.
