For 20 years since the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art opened, Life is a Struggle (Golden Rider) (1903) by Klimt has been a beloved museum treasure. Structured around this painting, this exhibition introduces the artist's stylistic development. It also examines various influences on the production of Golden Rider, mainly the activities of the Vienna Secession founded in 1897 and led by Klimt as the president, and the Wiener Werkstätte founded in pursuit of Gesamtkunswerk (total work of art) in 1903, but also by considering an influence of japonisme.
