Ikeda 20 seiki bijutsukan（Ikeda 20th century museum）in Ito City Shizuoka, is holding an exhibition, “KIDA YASUHIKO – INORINOMICHI -（KIDA YASUHIKO – Way of Prayer - ）.” Commemorating this exhibition, also located in Ito City Shizuoka, HIRO GALLERY IZUKOGEN is holding “Yasuhiko Kida representative woodcut prints exhibition.”

Yasuhiko Kida has potently depicted famous sceneries and temples in archetypal image of Japan. He has made his works in various techniques such as glass painting, board painting, ink painting and so on. The woodcut prints are especially evaluated among them, and British Museum has collected his woodcut prints as a permanent collection. Also, His works are widely known for the package illustrations of a well-known bath agent series, “Tabinoyado.”

HIRO GALLERY IZUKOGEN held “Yasuhiko Kida Woodcut prints Exhibition” featuring spa towns throughout Japan in May 2010. In this exhibition, related to “Way of Prayer,” we are displaying the representative woodcut prints that are difficult to acquire currently, including the very precious Sanjusangen-do [thirty-three ken (length) hall].
