The “MOMAT Summer Pavilion” will be built within the front courtyard for the celebration of The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo’s 60th anniversary. This unique outdoor spectacle will be open to public for their relaxation and enjoyment. We welcome Studio Mumbai, whose unique approach fuses elements of India’s vernacular with a unique modern design approach. The pavilion will be built from organic materials and will create a comfortable space to have a rest, take in sunsets and warm summer weather. We would like to introduce Studio Mumbai’s unique design and construction approach through this website. They are developing the project in their large half-open studio outside of Mumbai, experimenting with materials by creating a series of small one-to-one mock-ups.
