Harverd Art Museums / Fogg Museum Gift of Bernarda Bryson Shahn

It is a long time since a retrospective of Ben Shahn (1898-1969), the American artist who was active in New York, was last held. With the cooperation of the Fogg Museum, which is one of the Harvard Art Museums, approximately 100 photographic works taken by the artist will be on show.

With additional temperas, watercolors, drawings, posters, and prints, altogether over 200 works will be exhibited.

Focus will be given to the unfolding of the artist’s free use of diverse media. The significance of Ben Shahn’s great influence on Japanese art and design will also be reconsidered.
