Tuning the air in many different way,
variety of rhythms are solid and fluid,
I wish the evidence of the air to be 2-D sculpture...
-Makiko Tanaka

It has been a year since the last exhibition, we are pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition ‘rose tuning’ by Makiko Tanaka. Makiko presented the body of work based on ‘KEHAI’ (meaning ‘sign’ in Japanese) at the last exhibition, this time she offers unique sense of the light and colors which based on the theme of ‘tuning’. Instead of using symbolic images of vortex and volcano that appeared previous works, Makiko captures color and movement of the air in this new series. Makiko successfully deepen the image with dynamic use of rose color while “tuning” the tone of the air with the thin paint and carefully handled brush. Opening Reception:May 8th(Fri)7-9PM * The text was provided by hpgrp GALLERY TOKYO.
