RICARDA ROGGAN is born in former East Germany, Dresden in 1972. She learnt at the Leipzig sight art academy, completed the master's course in 2004. She also studied at the royal college of art in London in 2003. She obtained the current evaluation with a series of work that took out furniture such as the desk, chairs, and the beds from a factories which had become ruins in an old East Germany region, carried them to the studio, put, reproduced the indoor arrangement where they were put, and took a picture. She was also paid attentions as a minimus exhibitor in the exhibition "Present of German photograph" held in the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo in 2005. In this first solo exhibition in Japan, RICARDA ROGGANl exhibits her new work "Garage A" and 9 work series entitled "Baumstück" of which the motif is trees. This exhibition is held in two countries simultaneously; in Germany, "Garage" series is exhibited at Galerie EIGEN + ART Leipzig from January 17, and this "Baumstück" series is exhibited in Japan.
