This exhibition introduces her photographs of self portraits which are typical of her works. Those works are also at the collection of Tate Modern. Sarah Lucas was born in London in 1962. She studied art at The working Men's college, London College of Printing and Goldsmith's College, graduating in 1987. She was included in the group exhibition “Freeze”the following year along with contemporaries including Damien Hirst. Lucas had solo shows at the White Cube in London, Boymans-van Beuningen in Rotterdam, Portikus Frankfurt am Main, Frankfurt and The Ludwig Museum in Cologne in recent years. She has also shown at Kunsthalle Zurich, Kunstverein am Hamburg, Tate Liverpool and Freud Museum in London. Her works in the collection of Walker Art Center, Saatchi Collection and Tate Britain, as key works of British contemporary art last ten years. Sarah Lucas participated in the 50th International Biennale of Art in Venice. She lives and works in London as an internationally acclaimed. * The text was provided by Tomio Koyama Gallery.
