Yoshinori Niwa (born 1982, Department of Moving images and Performing arts, Tama Art University) is a young Japanese artist who uses various techniques and media for his outstanding works. At the beginning of his career, he used to show the radical physical performances/happenings. In 2010, he achieved a successful exhibition in the gallery αM. His activities has been further expanded.

he says, "My acts are the interventions to the social structure and they are not mere performances." Niwa's artworks eliminate the theatrical elements such as dance. There is a simple and strict attitude of an artist who is trying to propose the questions to our society.

This time, Niwa seeks the answer for the great earthquake 3.11; how should we grasp the current social circumstances and what have we been asked after the disaster? The exhibition will show his new two artworks that are visualized records of Niwa's latest activities in the town. He challenges to the structure of our society and economy on his own. We can somewhat see there a kind of solitude of a human being.
