Sawa has been creating the sceneries which look natural, but can be no where and seem to be factitive. That is to say, tiny parts, like a corner of a room, ledge of bathtab. Recently, he is attempting to turn the familiar ordinary sights into dissimilated by cutting off the parts of real scenery and creating the world woven with imaginary spaces. This exhibition, for the 3rd time in 4years for the artist, will exhibit his newest video work and 2 installations related with it. In the gallery space, a room will be set up, which shows the artist’s concept directly to viewers. Some ordinary elements like an old clock, the map of Moon and a record player will be the keys to take viewers to the world between reality and fantasy. Video work and installations will be hailing each other. Viewers will be able to experience “somewhere”, where Sawa has been seeking, where is beyond the physical spaces. * The text provided by Ota Fine Arts.
