KCUA Transmit Program #2: Displacement” is the second-part of a commemorative exhibition in 2010 featuring work by recent graduates of Kyoto City University of Arts. The exhibition presents a group of artists who are engaged in the creation of high-quality work that dispenses with the boundaries of existing genres such as painting, sculpture, crafts, and design. While making use of common materials and methods, the artists, each of whom is pursuing a unique artistic path, reproduce landscapes based on a scene from daily life. Though these scenes should seem familiar, they instead create a vague sense of discomfort, and in transforming the known into the unknown, cause us to inadvertently realize the value of each artist’s practice.

Artists;
TERADA Shuko, MORISUE Yumiko, NOHARA Kenji, YOSHIMURA Kumazou, YORIGAMI Kuri,
