Mitamura (b. 1964 in Aichi prefectural) has exhibited her works in many countries of the world since she started her carrer as an artist in 1993. In 2006, she held a solo exhibition in Secession (Austria) which a Japanese artist held solo exhibition for the first time since Nobuyoshi Araki held it in 1997. Also she has participated many group exhibitions held in Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, MOSCOW MUSEUM OF MODERN ART (Russia) and Museum of Modern Art in Salzburg (Austria). She will participate the Artist in residence program in Melbourne (Australia) this April.

Mitamura's works are "the three-dimensional drama that spectators can step into". Her installation work, layouting photography, film, furniture and small objects like book illustration, related to her own memory concord with our memory as if reading an I novel. A glimpse looming between the lines reveals that the time runs away like sands through our fingers.

This exhibition will show the photography taken beside the water from the series of "empty element" and "Frame" which both she photographed on the way going to exhibitions and artist in regidence overseas.
