Opened in Sendagaya, Tokyo in 1997, but transferring to Akasaka and then to Higashi-Azabu in 2007, and then to Roppongi in 2011, GALLERY SIDE 2 introduces mainly contemporary art including internationally well known artists such as Yutaka Sone and Rirkrit Tiravanija and also many young and promising artists. It has an international perspective in trying to find and introduce artists as seen in its active participation in overseas art fairs, and its introduction of new noteworthy overseas artists to Japan.
