This is the second solo exhibition of the artist in our gallery since his last exhibition “Shadow of Husk” in 2008.

Inoue has ever created his works using adhesive materials such as wood glue and glue of silicon type as his own media, and this time he also uses such materials, but he uses them for other purposes and in other ways than before. This means that he has entered a new phase of creation as an artist.

It would be such an honor if you would come to this exhibition “FIELDMAP”, feel what he intends to express, and read the “ground” and the “figure” of the map he presents.

From artist
In this exhibition, I’m going to portray imaginary scenes which I’ve personally selected using the keyword,“FIELDMAP”.
The exhibition will consist of the works such as a frozen clock since I poured resin into it, figures on which I rubbed the adhesive of silicon type, plastic models several parts of which were melted by heat and put together, glasses glued at their edges, and so on.
I’ve been very much attracted by RPGs(role-playing games) such as “Dragon Quest”and “Final Fantasy”. The perspective of the world depicted in “DQ” or “FF” is one of the indispensable elements for my works to exist.
FIELDMAP means a kind of map which represents such a way of looking at the world as is presented by the role-playing games.
I’d like you to enjoy such a perspective through my works at this exhibition.
