A Japanese white pine tree is floating in a one-meter cubic acrylic case filled with water. The case directly placed on the floor lowers our eyes to force us to look at the pine tree from above. Frozen air bubbles are the same as in the last exhibition, however, this time, we witness the actual life activity of a plant. From the movie showing the process of pouring water into the box with the pine tree it is obvious that the story is about regeneration: a pine tree pulled out of the soil is given a new life in the water.

Consecutiveness and resemblance to "SHIKI 2" is apparent, but it also has a similarity to "SHIKI" (2005) which bound a pine tree with wire inside an iron frame. The similarity is that the object is hung in the center with thread from the eight corners of the box. We can say this is a mixture of the last two artworks. Considering the whole "SHIKI" series including the later "SHIKI 4" (September 2008), this is the most generous to the pine tree. The pine tree is not exposed to the air, not trapped in the ice, not vacuum-packed. The only conditional element is that water, essential for plants, is not only a negative factor; this is the biggest difference from the other three SHIKI series.
