Ginza is a town where colorful buildings of eminent fashion brands and department stores stand side by side, and the illumination at night amuse our eyes. This exhibition is an experience-type installation by Shozo Toyohisa who designed the facade of Pola Ginza Building. Since the Pola Ginza Building is composed by using 130,000 LED, this work is also related with “lights”. The viewers are passed through a room one by one, and as sitting on the chair for about five minutes in the each room, experience the light installation that changes every moment with a voice guide flowing there. It is a work that makes us think about the sight deflecting saying that "What is that we recognize the light?", and is very interesting attempt. However, the voice guides were all in English, and I got tired since I am not good at listening English. It would be a merely illumination if there was no explanation. In that sense, the work is supplemented by the voice guide in order to let us know what the work intends as an important factor. I do not understand why the voice guide had to be in English since the artist is Japanese and here is Japan even if there are a lot of foreigners in Ginza. To our regret, I cannot help saying that it is an extremely unkind exhibition.
