This exhibition consists of the work of 25 emerging artists selected from among the Kyoto University of Art and Design's new graduates and post-graduates in 2008, and plus the work of the past graduates. It has been held in Tokyo since 2001, and functions to introduce young artists based in Kyoto. I especially paid to attention at Ataru Sato’s energetic miniature “transformation”, who has also joined the group exhibition in Hitoshima MOCA and published a picture collection 'Hatsu-koi' (published by Art Beat Publishing in 2009), and Noriko Fujii‘s pencil sketch “EN” which gives a feeling of quality as for the antique art. On the other side of these high-level artists, there is an artist who has not established its original form yet such as Yuki Murabayashi who draws a fantasy-world of women. As seeing their exhibition, I cannot help considering what the most important matter for their future is to keep producing rather than whether to sell well now or not. Therefore, it is an exhibition for their start as an artist and I’d like to see the work of an artist whose karma can be felt in it. However, it is difficult to distinguish it here and what I can do to keep continuously seeing the artist who attracted my attention there.
