Editor's Note

This is surprisingly the first solo exhibition of Nana Funo who is still remembered with the exhibition at "VOCA 2009" (Ueno Royal Museum). Her new works including “Scab on Flower” (2008) which was also in VOCA 2009 are exhibited this time. I especially paid attention to the works exhibited in TKG Edition in Kyoto simultaneously held. 108 works (each 20×20cm) cover over the exhibition walls, and are said to have all been drawn in a short time of only two months. It is comfortable to view that the each fragmentary motif such as the forest, flora and fauna is gradually connected to each other on the canvas. It is not felt gloomy though many are minutely drawn because the white color used in a most effective way.
