"Bakuhatsu no Hana(Blossom of Explosion)" (2010); courtesy of the artist and GALLERY HASHIMOTO copy right(c) Mio KANEDA Kaneda was beloged to design department at Art University, but very much attracted by printing and produced a lot of prints by herself with acknowledged various techniques. As a result of her knowledge of printing techniques and patient efforts for appropriate choice of medium and techniques, her strokes and chromogenic effect became extraordinary and regarded as one of her uniqueness as a painter. Without any strong color or evocative motif, her works left lasting impression in ones mind with its poetic titles; “forthwith and subtle.” Kaneda tries with sincerity to put down what she receives during her daily life including its whiff with her five senses and sensitivity using her as a medium. Kaneda spends so much time and energy on her each work and that leads to the fact that she had very limited exhibitions and produced very few works even though Kaneda has 20 years career as artist. It can be said in return for this, her each work has strong eloquent silence that wins one's affection.
