Gallery Simon was opened in Ishikawa-cho, Yokohama in October of 2006 and features all kinds of work including art, craft, images, photography, and jewelry. “Shimon” refers to the four gates to the truth in the Buddhist term, which implies the gallery’s wish to be a place for the expression of artists who seek the truth of creative activity, and for the intersection of various kinds of artistic senses. In the annex café, one can enjoy organic herbal tea as well as various projects and events including exhibition-related workshops, concerts, and performances such as dance shows. Among the artists who were edxhibited in past are Kouji Ohno, Izuru Takebuchi, Teruko Chiba, Hanamaro, Youichiro Furuya, Takashi Watanabe, Masao Sato, Kenji Matsumoto, Ikuyo Shigeno, Hisanao Aguni, Noriko Kitamura, Masahiko Furuichi, Kenji Kojima, and Junko Amauchi.
