Yuri Hosho Exhibition ”Autonomous Form”
Events

From exhibition works

Yuri Hosho is a painter who has started her art work with this question ‘Who am I?’ At the beginning she literally used her body to create the painting, and then she moved towards the technique to copy the movement onto the paper. Stepping over the time of projecting her ‘self’, she now gains an abstract way of expressing as deepening autonomy of the painting itself.
She says ‘When something inside the painting with its will doesn’t need any more adding and be as free as possible, we can lean our body on it through our eyes and remember many of the energetic lives there’.
To paint and to see the painting can free our body and mind. Her belief becomes stronger and stronger today as it becomes more difficult for people to just be who they are.
