From exhibition works

Takayuki Mitsushima has been working on an art expression that can move both people with or without the sense of sight. He uses his sense of touch and makes flat pictures by sticking cutting sheets and tapes. His art works are outstanding as pictures and also carries originality as visual images with their forms and colours. His relief work gives us not only visual interests but also fresh surprises by touch. He hammers nails with all sorts of thickness and length into a wooden panel and creates relief work.
He lost his sight when he was 10 years old but with his great imagination and inquisitive mind he has been gathering people’s attentions. He is an artist who builds a bridge between visual and tactile world. He is now also taking part in the exhibition ‘MOT Satellite 2019 Wandering, Mapping’ at Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.
