《Dhyana》 mixed media, 727x606mm, 2017

Nam So-yeon is a painter who lives in Changwon, Korea. This is her 2nd exhibition in Tokyo since the year before last. Graceful ink-black touch of the brush seems to carry an atmosphere where something living exists in the pure white mist. It expands the space and also creates the depth, which bring our consciousness beyond the screen.

The title of the photographic work ‘Dhyana’ is Sanskrit and it is the derivation of the word ‘Zen’. It is symbolic to her very quiet dream-like world.

At the opening performance the artist herself in a traditional Korean costume will show us a dance that will unite the colours, movements and art works into one space.
