From exhibition works

Mikio Urasaki has been consistently painting everyday realities as his subjects. And in that work, he has focused on the moments that would not let him come any closer and the feelings that he gets from their attractive unintelligibility.

Now he came to realize that recently he mainly painted unrealistic virtual images such as the shadows/silhouettes on the mirror, water, floors and walls. He gave his thoughts on this fact and stated in his concept-book for this exhibition that ‘Accidentally and very easily, our everyday lives can become uncertain and the world may be lifted into many pieces. And we can never put them back together. In this newly opened world, things start to act freely… we just have to live with them on the same level and nobody really understands where this world is heading to…’
