TWS-Emerging 2017

TWS-Emerging is a program associated with the open call exhibition, Tokyo Wonder Wall, which has provided talented young artists with a gateway to success. Each year, Tokyo Wonder Wall receives more than 1000 applications and 100 artists are selected to show their works. TWS-Emerging offers the opportunity for those selected artists to take part in another exhibition at Tokyo Wonder Site, and this year, nine young artists have been invited.
[Part 2] will start on 7/22(Sat) featuring three artists, Shota Yamuchi, Natsumi Ito and Yohei Shikano. Opening Talk with a guest speaker will be taking place on the opening day (Available only in Japanese).
This exhibition is organized by Arts Program and Residency Division, Museum of contemporary Art Tokyo, Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture

*As of April 1, 2017, Tokyo Wonder Site is operated by a division of the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo.
*From October 1, 2017, Tokyo Wonder Site will be named "Tokyo Arts and Space".

Artists:
Shota Yamauchi ‘DETOUR’
Born in 1992, Gifu. Graduate School of Film and New Media Tokyo University of Art.

Natsumi Ito ‘The Ptolematic System Theory - Finding the Center of Movement’
Born in 1993. Enrolled in Oil Painting, Joshibi University of Art and Design.

Yohei Shikano ‘The Ghost of Voices’
Born in Kanagawa, 1992. Completed Master of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2017.
