This exhibition showcases Shinohara's recent works, in which the expression of women is restrained to contrasting with the beauty of the floras and faunas drawn in the background.

Editor's Note by Takeshi HIRATA

The work of Shinohara love makes up a form of a grotesque person in the painting by the realistic drawing everyone receives, but she draws the grotesque body in a bright, bright world. The milk-white groundwork where girls are drawn is wonderful and consistent since before. The groundwork might effect on the remarkable characters including a fish's scale, internal organs that flies out from girl's bowels, a crocodilian, a stuffed animal, and a plant like ivy that grows from arm. However, because only cruelty is roused, it might make you feel distance between the painting and the words.
