Hajimarinotenkai, 2015, oil on canvas, 162 x 162 cm

KOKI ARTS is pleased to host Hiro Tsuchiya's first solo exhibition, Circulation. This exhibition will showcase 7 new paintings.

Tsuchiya's work's theme is death. Since the loss of a close person, Tsuchiya has thought about the meaning of death, and through his work has attempted to search for an answer. His paintings express how after human beings and animals die, the dead bodies are eventually returned to nature. Tsuchiya's work does not portray death as something negative, but it is a process of imagining and understanding the unknown.

Hiro Tsuchiya (b.1987) is currently an MFA candidate at Tokyo Zokei University. This will be his second time exhibiting at KOKI ARTS since a group exhibition in 2013. Exhibitions in 2014 include group exhibitions at Ai Gallery and Kodama Gallery.
