At the GMO Internet Group offices in Tokyo and Osaka, works of modern art from the collection of Group CEO & Founder, Masatoshi Kumagai are displayed in the meeting room areas, bringing staff and visitors in closer touch with art. Known as GMO Gallery, the meeting room floor in the Group’s Shibuya, features works by Julian Opie, one of Britain’s most influential contemporary artists, and the collection is regularly rotated for the enjoyment of those who pass through the space.

On November 7 and 8, 2015, GMO Internet Group will open up its offices in Shibuya, Tokyo for two days only to the general public for the exhibition, Julian Opie artworks from the Kumagai Collection. The event is being held in response to the many requests received from fans of Julian Opie and contemporary art.

Under the concept “art resonates with office”, unlike the atmosphere a gallery, setting the exhibition against the backdrop of the GMO Internet Group offices will allow visitors to experience the collection of Julian Opie works in a real world environment. The exhibition will feature around 30 pieces, including LED work with a focus on portraits.
