The unbalance caused between the whole (concept) and the part (sense component) brings " poverty", that is, emptiness in each of the exhibited artists. A group show curated by Kentaro Ichihara.

A group exhibition planned by an art critic, Kentaro Ichihara (b. 1949) as the curator. This is an exhibition named after the sub-prime mortgage crisis in 2008, "Post bubble", and "Poverty". It was not possible to agree to bring the young artists together under one fixed theme. However, the arrangement is quite impressive with its wide variety of works of ten artists who were born between 1986 and 1980, including a plane, a solid, and an image work, besides paintings such as Goro Ishimori’s installation, and the pen miniature by Inoue. We can refer to Ichikawa's comment "Does the art in a poor age admire ‘poverty’?" within the exhibition catalog ('Truth - Art in the Poor Age' Hiromiyoshii, 2009) in order to find what he considers "poverty". However, the comment ends with self-righteous opinions such as "we reached the point that poverty turns into richness" (p.12), and though the introduction is long, it is not enough to interpret the individual work from the theme. By the way, is it intentional that this catalog is a monochrome print? It is a shame that this catalogue is insufficient as a record though it is an ambitious project that considers society and history.
