You are warmly invited to the opening reception of My Garden, a solo exhibition by Awano Yukio, from 6pm on 21st December, 2013.

Awano's recent work takes the form of plants and animals depicted through geometric patterns drawn on paper with pencil and ink. Seeking to exploit the potential delicacy of paper, his sharp handling of the pen leads to an intensity of expression, punctuated by the occasional glimpse of violent boldness, which belies the cheap and simple materials used.

Awano is a musician as well as a visual artist and his live DJ sets combine real-time multiplex sound recordings with his own compositions. Although this exhibition will focus on his pencil drawings, works in ink, pen and pastel will also be presented, and a live music performance will be held.
