2010年、長い歴史を持つ多民族国家・ミャンマー（ビルマ）は、ほぼ40年の鎖国を解き、世界に向けて門戸を開きました。
変革への動きは、停戦協定とそのあとに実施された総選挙で明らかなものとなりました。 それ以来、ミャンマーはあらゆる面で世界の注目の的となり、世界中の国々がミャンマーの激しい推移にかかわらんと熱い視線を送っています。
「変貌する暮らし」は、このダイナミックな変革期のミャンマーを柔らかな視線で見つめた写真展です。 新鋭の写真家オーイン・ルアンワッタナスクは、2011年から3年間、何度もミャンマーを訪れ、色々な土地のさまざまな情景を撮影しました。
これらの作品は、人々の日常の暮らしを、ある時はドキュメンタリータッチで、またある時はアーティスティックに繋ぎ止め、作者の鋭敏な感性と洗練された表現能力がいかんなく発揮されています。 作品の多くはモノクローム・35mmで構成され、その質感は粗い粒子が際立つものとなっています。

Ornin Ruangwattanasuk, the photographer, is based in Bangkok, Thailand. Her work has won several

International Awards including the Second Prize in the PX3 2013, the Second Place in World

Photography Organization (WPO), Thailand National Award 2013, Four Honorable Mention and

Country's pick in International Photography Award (IPA) 2012 and Twelve Honorable Mentions in

International Photography Awards (IPA)2013. Her works have been exhibited in Bangkok, Singapore,

Paris and London.
