The exhibition title, "nyoijyu" refers to a buddhist imaginary sacred tree, also known as the wishing tree, which grants all wishes of worshippers and bears golden fruits in its harvest time. This golden fruits are told to bring an immortality.

After his previous solo show "yama-biko (echoes)" at Gallery Trax, Yamanashi in the last summer, Tsunoda has productively worked on new body of works, as pens and brushes run. As he produced, Tsunoda says, he realised unconsciously picked up a paint in gold colour and drew more circles motifs - which in the end reminded him of a imagery looking up into the sky from the bottom of a tree bearing golden fruits. Being overlapped with the legend of "nyoijyu", those new works unfold a grandeur story containing the immortal life force.

In those new paintings, Tusnoda is adopting a technique of collage. Keeping the characteristic of his aesthetic colour sensation and exquisitely drawn lines, the freely arranged collages instill the buds of life into the works - suggesting a sign of the artist's change.

This exhibition will be his 3rd solo exhibition at FOIL GALLERY since 2009. By displaying various sized paintings in rather straightforward, simple way, this exhibition "nyoijyu" gives full plays to the power of the works.
