Galerie Tokyo Humanité is pleased to present OKUMURA Hiroyuki's solo exhibition of new sculptures entitled Ciclo / Cycle. Okumura's sculptures are both dynamic and delicate which reflect natural scenery he saw or time he felt in Mexico. Okumura uses stones from Mexico where he lives for 30 years. This is Okumura's first exhibition in our gallery.

Okumura (b. 1963) studied sculpture at Kanazawa College of Art in Japan and received his M.A. in 1988. He visited Mexico when he was a student and greatly impressed by ancient Mexican cultre and freedom in their expression. Okumura decided to go to Mexico in 1989 and since then, he has been working as an artist there and had many museum exhibitions and public art.
