switch point

Opened in April 2001 in Kokubunji, Tokyo, "switch point" aims at being a comfortable space, expressing the concept of the Osaka design group "graf", who designed the gallery's interior, of “space as a device”. It holds special exhibitions in a variety of fields from contemporary art to illustration design, as well as lending out its exhibition space, and holding workshops. It also produces and sells of artists’ catalogues.

This interior space designed by "graf" is neither an interior-shop nor a so-called "white cube", but a unique space with a calm, intimate atmosphere. It is intertwined to the rhythm of the town, and functions as a comfortable device. There are numbers of young artists who have enough ability, and from whom we can expect many developments in the future.

The artists who exhibited in the past are; Fumika Inoue, Yoichi Sano, Kenji SUzuki, Takino Hisako, Kenji Miki, Saiko Kimura, Nobuhiko Haijima, Yuichiro Matsunaga, Midori Yoshihara, Shinichi Araki, Minoru Inoue, nakaban, Miwa Matsumoto, Tadanao Suenaga, Takayoshi Tsuchiya, Motohiro Tomii, and many others.
